After hearing The China Study and listening to many, many episodes of The Rich Roll podcast and then being told I had a dairy and egg allergy, I figured going Vegan was a no brainer since I wasn’t big on meat any how.
Except it kind of hurt my brain at first!
What did people eat?!
While I’m not Vegan now, the months I spent foraging for food in the wilderness introduced me to a whole new world of food. I also began to realize how easy it was to make traditional mid-Western fatty dishes much healthier and still full of flavor with some of these new foods. Now I set about finding ways to get others eating more veggies and less meat without even realizing it!
Perhaps you can make a change for everyone in your family by trying out Meatless Monday Night Football!!! Yup that’s right I said it, so for the skeptics in the crowd here are some ideas to get you started!
DAIRY FREE RANCH DIP
What?! Did you even know it was possible to make a version of ranch that was totally from whole foods and minus the dairy that can cause so many of us bloating the day after?!Ingredients
- 1 cup soaked cashews
- 1/4 cup Silk cashew milk
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder or 1 fresh clove
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp dried dill weed
- 3 tsp white wine vinegar
Directions…blend…eat. Yup that’s my kind of recipe!

Listening to Rich Roll will definitely get you thinking about eating more plant based. I find that when I listen at work to his podcasts, I seem to eat less meat/dairy and pick plants. It's like he gets into your subconscious somehow! Those pretzels look delicious!

I like the Falcons however I have yet to watch a football game this year. Chips and homemade pico de gallo is my appetizer of choice. Those little pretzel guys are too cute. Thanks for sharing all the recipes.
