Finding work out gear is easy, it’s at Target, Sports Authority, Old Navy…but finding workout gear with the technology to allow you to perform while looking like a woman takes a company with a determination to serve women. Oakley has long been a man’s company, until the determination and unwavering passion of a group of female employees began pushing for improved women’s wear.
First they got a new women’s specific designer, then started the ambassador program and now have received full company initiatives for the women’s active line!! In Napa, we were lucky enough to see a preview of the 2013 spring line and it’s amazing what technology can do when combined with an amazing designer. My favorite pieces include lots of REFLECTIVE gear, but don’t look like say an orange safety vest.
It’s not just a shirt with reflectivity laid on top, no way Oakley digs deeper and is now using a technology called Laser Etching to weave the reflectivity in to the garment…seriously it’s awesome. Plus some bright colors, great shapes and SEAMLESS shirts to prevent chaffing. Can you tell I’m a bit excited?
I tell you all of this because it’s part of why I am so blessed to have joined this family of women (and men!). The Oakley employees, Oakley Athletes and Oakley ambassadors all focus on living their best lives and good…well it’s not enough they want great. I could not possibly be more inspired after leaving this weekend…look out big announcement on the horizon.
In fact one of my favorite quotes in YEARS came from an Oakley Athlete - Lolo Jones:

Doesn’t that say it all about how it can take a long time for our dreams to come true, so you better really want it and be ready to enjoy the ride!! More details about the entire weekend coming soon, but I truly wanted to share with you these amazing women as I m so inspired by them.
These women are all testing their own limits whether it’s in their sport, in business or in personal pursuits. It would be impossible to spend a weekend with them and not feel like you are ready to tackle the world. And MOST importantly to conquer the world TOGETHER not in competition (except at race time!)
What women inspire you?![]()
