In just a few hours, the sun will rise on my 36th birthday. I’ll throw back the covers from my warm Dublin hotel room, kiss that handsome man of mine, down a slice of bread with almond butter and head out to…RUN the Rock N Roll Dublin 10k.
Being away from home on my birthday actually inspired what I wanted to share with you today and more importantly how I want to celebrate life this year! That’s right, I count the year from my birthday, who needs all that NYE stress.I’ve got a few more laugh lines, but you know what I stand my statement that I love getting older. Yes, even with the knee injury.
Instead of another year where I spout off about all the things I’ve learned, making me seem far wiser than I am (though you can certainly read my 34 lessons of adulthood or advice from friends on what they wish they’d known).
I mean, we all know I’m learning some of the same lessons time after time right? Besides my biggest lesson this year is that I can survive without running and that’s just a crapola lesson, no one really needs to learn.
Which leaves me with a big blank page…how to celebrate turning 36 when you still feel like someone in their 20’s? I credit this to having no children waking me up all night…then again I go to be at 9PM, get up at 5AM, love the early bird special and have a knee that makes me walk like I’m 90…so what do I know.
36 is about looking forward.
We’ve been in Colorado for a year and a half now, during that time we have explored. We have made killer new friends. We have pushed our boundaries. And I have spent a lot of time traveling other places! With so much going on, it’s easy to fall in to sticking to the trails we know and love, but that’s not why we’re here.
Thus it was time to create the Colorado Bucket List of Adventures!!!
Do you purposefully try to explore new places where you live? Do you love where you live? If not, why don’t you move?! I had fun in Florida, but it was never love…so I bid my time, until I knew Mountain Bike Hubby would be excited to move as well.
Colorado Bucket List
There are so many places on this crazy spinning ball that I WILL visit, but that doesn’t mean I can’t enjoy every bit of our new home state.
This particular bucket list is all about really getting to know where we live now! I’m still thrilled that we made the choice to move to Colorado, where I feel I’ve truly connected with some of the best people and have so much that I want to do. Every weekend we say there’s something else we want to do, so here’s my list.
I could just write, hike, run, hike, bike and say it applies to everywhere in Colorado, but there are some specific experiences that I really want to make sure don’t get lost in our shuffle of daily to do’s.
