I’ve noted a few times lately that we were without TV for almost 3 weeks after the move due to all our travels…it was great for getting things done, but I cannot lie we MISSED sitting down and enjoying some good shows. I think it’s simply part of how I unwind at the end of the day and stop thinking.
That being said David also watches a lot of Discovery Channel shows that teach me things I didn’t even realize I wanted to know…or sometimes didn’t want to know. But we are also really drawn to detective shows. Something about the Clue board game aspect of whodunit appeals to our competitive nature. You read that right, we’re competitive in our TV watching.
At the beginning of most crime shows or dramas we blurt out our guesses. We announce our prediction about who is the killer or who is going to die or how someone is going to react to news, which you might think would ruin the show but it doesn’t. I think it probably makes me pay a little more attention because I keep pointing out things that prove I’m on the right track.
When TNT and BlogHer offered up the chance to watch a brand new show King & Maxwell before it comes out for those who consider themselves “Armchair Detectives” I couldn’t help but laugh at the title and realize it was entirely applicable to use. All right so down to business what is this new show:
This shows involves a male, female pair that seem to skirt the boundaries of what’s entirely legal to get answers. They have the normal flirtations, but you don’t get the sense that this show is going to have an underlying current of will they or won’t they get together. The show also had a TON of action, which definitely keeps our attention.
I didn’t realize that is based on stories from David Baldacci one of my VERY favorite authors. So I am now extra excited to see how the rest of the season unfolds!I’m excited to learn more about the background of this show as the season continues and start making some guesses as to what will happen next! We definitely enjoyed watching the pilot and will be watching on June 10th at 10/9c when the series kicks off.
