Songza – Power Songs

I can’t even find the right words to tell you how freaking cool I think Songza is because I’m still just that excited. Strange right? Who goes gaga over something that plays music; pretty sure they started calling it a radio in the early 1900’s.

Many of you fell in love with Rhapsody or Spotify ages ago, but I just couldn’t quite get on board. Then last Friday while exploring features on my Droid Incredible 4G LTE I found Songza. I like a lot of things, which is why you generally see good reviews on the site, but I rarely rave about anything (besides my Kinvara’s and SaltStick) so my excitement got David to download it immediately and oh yes he loves it too. Open-mouthed smile

Wahooo it’s my new favorite training tool!! I love music. BUT I am horrible at taking the time to make playlists (never use them on long runs only speed). Therefore when my 9-10 mile speed work days roll around I listen to the radio, but I’m usually thinking “gosh I wish one of my power songs would magically be played”. BOOM with Songza it was power song after power song. << See I’ve lost all capacity for words better than cool, amazing, and boom in my excitement.

I am bad a playlists because I’m cheap. I know this is a refrain you’ve heard before from my yoga choices to hitting the library, but it’s TRUE. I love this because I can listen to the current Top Hits for FREE. This thing just speaks my language in so many ways!
Check it out you can stream it online while you’re at work too! As you can see it guides you through what you are looking for first by day of week, time of day, mood and then you get to start picking Top 40 Pop or Rap or Country. Happy runner!!

As noted I was playing these through the super duper Beats Audio on my Droid Incredible 4G LTE by HTC. I have to admit that umm I may also have had a few dance parties in the apartment using the speaker sans headphones…seriously you don’t want to dance when you hear Cher Lloyd “Want U Back” or Pink?!

Do you use music for speed work? What’s your favorite tool for it? What’s your power song?
