If you’re like me after most runs, you are rushing through a shower then to the kitchen and then on to some other task. It’s one of the reasons I implemented to Meditation Challenge this month..rush, rush, rush.
The one exception to this rule seems to be after my Sunday long run. In that moment I am deliriously happy to have done it again, exhausted and ready to reward my body for doing something wonderful. I now have a very specific process for rewarding amazing body after 3 plus hours of rocking it!!
1. Rinse off in the shower -- seems odd since due to humidity I’m already soaked, but ya know.

4. Soak and read while sipping on a green smoothie -- main issue here is not falling asleep and becoming another Whitney Houston tragedy
5. Shower off and then lotion!! Seriously I never take the time any other day of the week
5. Finally it’s my 2XU compression socks and foam rollingNothing about this process is expensive, but some how it feels really luxurious to take my time and just enjoy each little thing which seems so mundane.
The deep conditioning treatment is important to me as I am still a little weary of my body forcing me to do another crazy haircut if I can’t get things straightened out. The haircut trauma is starting to wear off as I realize how much easier my life has become since lopping off those tired ends!! I can wash and go or curl or straighten and I’m not worried about frizz or pulling it back because it just starting looking…well tired.
The Dove treatment is great because it helps with damaged hair, but isn’t so heavy that it leaves my fine hair dragging. There is a lot of technology speak about what happens here so let’s just say if you need to repair dry hair from a summer of being at the pool check it out.
