Did the title get your attention? Well that’s why authors and magazines do it! My workouts this week largely followed Jackie Warner’s 10 Pounds in 10 Days: The Secret Celebrity Program for Losing Weight Fast that I received during the Evian Live Young Event. MINUS the diet which starts out at 900 calories a day…and let’s be honest I don’t even know how to only eat 900 calories without feeling like life sucks.
Thus I can't prove whether or not you would loose 10 pounds, but I tend to believe on the calories provided...yes. She does keep the workouts short as well, so it's not a crazy calorie deficit and she is very clear that you need to make sure you actually have 10 pounds to lose. I wanted to give it a try after our interview where she definitely let me know that distance running could be why I was a bit “doughy”.
Based upon all of the information I have been reading lately, it does seem that if you are looking to change your body shape, not get functionally fit or athletically fit, then these short straight forward weight lifting sessions are what you should be doing.
I have to say that after following the book for 7 days I still am not sure that it's enough. Each workout is roughly 7 exercises of 2 rounds 10 reps. I am going to try increasing the weight, but compared to what I see many of the ladies I admire doing it doesn’t sound like enough…then again I am used to running for an hour!
Pro: I finally followed a plan! I won’t even do that with running!
Con: I didn’t even touch the eating plan
Pro: She does a great job describing the benefits of each food she recommends in the plan
Con: 1000 jump ropes made me feel like my calves were going to be awesome, but what about throwing in say mountain climbers and burpees.
All right so my fitness friends what lifting plan do you follow? How long do your weight lifting sessions take? - Thinking I might finish this and then try Jamie Eason’s plan.
