It amazes me that at a time when obesity has taken over the headlines, there are still millions of children without 
food. Have you heard about programs like the “after school backpack” that provides kids with a backpack full of food to take home for the weekend because kids were not eating from Friday lunch to Monday lunch. The good news is we as runners have a great chance to participate in an event to help stop this!!
This time of year it is easy to be generous, but kids need our help every day of the year. That is why I am really excited about this 5K run/walk on Ocean Drive sponsored by Live Ultimate…the main thrust of this event is CHARITY…and yet the amenities are some of the best I have ever seen for a 5K!
The directors want this to be an event that you do every year because you love it. Hence all proceeds go to charity and they have scored some great stuff to entice you to come back and make this the Ultimate 5K! I have meet this team and they truly are passionate about health and helping. Right now it is only in Miami, but fear not my Cali friends they are looking to do one in LA next year.
