It might be more accurate to call her a nutritionist, but based on the way she is helping me I’m going to call her a coach. During my Oakley Ambassador trip I met the amazing Lacey Calvert who owns California Yoga Sport. Everything about this woman inspires me to get out and live my life to the fullest.
Here Lacey lead us on a short yoga class…literally on the front steps of our hotel. It was hilarious and wonderful.
Recently, she brought a nutritionist/health coach on to her team and I jumped at the chance to work with her. I definitely have a lot of knowledge about healthy eating, but having someone to hold you accountable and help you work through stress eating is well…FUN! Maybe not everyone’s idea of fun, but a crazy blogger who loves healthy living…totally my idea of FUN.
Diana is great because she started our conversation with “listen you know a lot and we aren’t going to do or add anything here that creates additional stress in your life.” Yup totally love her energy right from the get go.
I will be talking with Diana every other week for the next six months. During our chat this time we started talking about ways to reduce my stress and slowly ease back in to food as my stomach feels better. Hence…she is a coach because it’s not all just about what I put in my body!
At the end of our call we decided the following:
Try cutting out nuts because they are very hard for the body to process..uhh in the quantities that I eat anyhow.
10 minutes daily of creative writing - I love to write and just don’t make the time. Having a coach is making me do it and enjoy it
Try a new green. - I have had a love affair with spinach for months, which means I’m just getting the same vitamins over and over and over. So this week I did pick up red leaf romaine because I just couldn’t stomach kale at the moment.
Have you ever worked with a nutritionist, life coach or other coach outside of team sports? I know some of you have running coaches and I’m interested in how beneficial you feel it’s been?
