Kickboxing

Sometimes in life you feel like a punching bag and others you actually get to hit one!! I mentioned last week that I had a chance for the first time to take a kickboxing class that actually involved the “boxing” component!

I’m used to Tae Bo crazy cardio classes and was surprised at just how much I loved hitting and kicking that bag. I could feel all kinds of muscles working…so I decided that Mr. BMX should join me this week.

He however did not want to play along with my photos of choice that made it look like I was beating him up…my laughing may not have helped.

I enjoyed this week again, but there wasn’t nearly enough punching and kicking. We did a lot more abs and strength work, which I totally need…I just happened to want to kick some butt! Next week is the last week I can go for free, so I will make sure I’m there! Have you ever done a true boxing class? I wonder if I would like that?

Mr. BMX enjoyed it BUT I forgot about his sad little pinky. For those who don’t remember the “I’m in an ambulance call me” accident where Mr. BMX nearly cut off his finger… it resulted in him not being able to make a complete fist, so every time he punched with that hand it was basically killing him. WHOOPS.

LATE NIGHT 5K
I’ve got a random 5K tomorrow night that I was able to enter for free. So I am now trying to figure out what I want to do about any kind of long run this weekend. I think maybe 10 miles tomorrow morning then the 5K…I’d like to do well but the marathon is still my priority.

Beyond that I plan for there to be more of this…beach

And calling the hotel about this…bedbugs

I really want to take a boxing class. I have a punching bag and gloves at my house but I really don't know what I'm doing. Enjoy the last week of class!

I took a boxing class right after I stopped swimming, and LOVED IT. I felt so empowered, and I recommend it to anyone. Also, bedbugs...EW. definitely call the hotel about that one!

Umm, what!? Bedbugs creep me out! I didn't know they were a real thing until a few years ago, but now it seems like they are on the news every other day. Make sure they don't end up in your house!

Kickboxing looks awesome! I want to try it.

Looks like fun. After three weeks of Summer Vacation I do feel like punching someone.

I used to do a weekly class that was 50 solid minutes of punching and kicking the heavy bags. Also, I used to train on them a lot for martial arts. I even had my own at home. :)
