3rd In My Age Group

Saturday’s ALS 10K ended up being an unintentional PR and a very exciting place of 3rd in my age group.  I think it was a combination of having our first non-humid morning in many moons, track work and a beautiful course. Coconut Grove has been voted one of America’s best runs and it’s no joke, beautiful!

Because this was Mr. BMX’s first 10k, I had planned to run it easy with him…but he opted to have me head on without him so he didn’t feel any pressure. I wasn’t pushing myself terribly hard so I was pleasantly surprised when I crossed the finish line and realized I had PR’ed by 2 minutes!!  Even better when I realized I won a beautiful finely crafted plastic medal. Open-mouthed smile

That handsome man totally rocked out this race finishing only a few minutes behind me…seriously he’s a pretty hot sweaty guy, right?!

ODWALLA
I was fully decked out in Odwalla and many of my teammates were there as well…we rocked this race taking 2 first place finishes and my third place finish! This was one of the few times I haven’t hauled bars with me to a race and this adorable lady came up asking if I had any because she loves them so much… lesson learned I will always pack them in the future!!

FRIENDS
This was an amazing day with a lot of friends…I am so lucky to be a runner and to have fallen in to a wonderful group of beautiful people inside and out.  In the Runner Depot shirt is Bryan Huberty a great friend, teacher of ChiRunning… and the OVERALL WINNER!!! I am hoping all his speed rubs off.

FORM
I was very excited to see this photo of me from a friend because it showed how much my form has improved…check it out I’m finally running and not run/walking in a photo.10k finish

Congrats on 3rd in AG. That's pretty sweet!
I don't think I'll ever get my hubbie into running. It bores him too much if he runs farther then a few miles.

Woohoo, an awesome day for you girl!! I always find if I relax and take it "easy" I always do better than if I go after that PR! Not always, but a great deal of the time. Congrats!!

btw, the Topricin cream is really awesome. I don't know if it's the combination of me giving myself a great foot rub with it but it always feels so nice when I use it! Thanks dearly!!!
