Resolution Fun Run

After a night of counting down the minutes until we feel that the slate is wiped clean and we have a fresh start is there a better way to start 2011 than with a little healthy fun!

Zensah compression and Mix1 Life have asked me to help set up a New Years Day Fun Run in Miami…sure it’s only two weeks away, but any true runner or new runner is going to want to get started on day one of 2011!

Instead of race bibs, we’ll have “Resolution bibs”!
ResolutionRunCost: FREE
Where: South Pointe Park, Miami Beach… nothing like a run on the beach
When: NYD 10AM
Distance: Pacers will be available for anywhere from 2-5 miles…depending on the kind of night you had.
Estimated Participants: 200

Mix1 will be providing their protein drinks and Zensah will be giving away some great compression gear!! Additional sponsors are in the works so that we can ensure your year starts off in a great healthy way.

NOT IN MIAMI?
Well should you decide to do a Virtual Run and print out the above bib and send in a photo…I should have some prizes for you as well. Be on the look out for a big Mix1 giveaway!

Sweet! I'll be joining you virtually, but wish I could be there in person!

me and my friend dana are hosting our second annual double D marathon on NYE!! we do it at a one mile loop so people can come and run as much or as little as they want. last year it snowed and was so much fun!

Such a great idea! I love the idea of writing the resolution on there. I hope to say I can particpate in this. As you mentioned, it does depend on how much fun I have the night before! :)

Fun! I'm planning on doing a Hangover Classic race on New Years Day....maybe I can wear two bibs. ;-)

How I wish that I could be there!

Great idea! The bibs are really cool! Too bad I'm not in Miami - I would love to do this race. The only New Year's race I've found here is a marathon and that's a little much for New Year's Day.

That sounds fun! Well, I DO plan on running on New Years (8 mi) because I gotta start training for LA Marathon! But knowing me, it'd be better to start on NY Eve b/c I know I'll be tired come Jan 1!

That's cool. Have fun with the planning, hope it goes smoothly. I'm already signed up for a Resolution Run on Jan 1. I did it last year and it was great.

what an awesome idea! wish I lived in the area so I could participate =(

Very cool idea. We'll be up in MA over New Years, but if the roads aren't snow covered (or if the trails are!), I'll definitely be heading out for a run.

Thanks for the shout-out yesterday, by the way - I'll fill it out soon!

Unless I get some SUPER warm running gear for Christmas, I'll be doing mine on the treadmill! It has been downright frigid here!

Ok. I am in for my first virtual race!!

Mallory said...

Oooo perhaps I'll do the virtual run!!

Love the idea! I'll be joining you virtually. We'll see what Mother Nature brings for weather, maybe I'll even venture outside for a New Year's Day run in Wisconsin!

Am I seriously THIS far behind in blog-land? I just saw that my points havent been entered for a while. Sorry. I will try to update tonight (as you might remember I only enter runs on DM, I paper track my other workouts. I have started doing bodyrock too. I am hoping the HBBC will keep me on my cross training! Thanks)

I will be joining in the fun on New Years day - virtually that is!

I am thinking that The Captain and I should do the virtual part of this run... will be out there slogging away anyway.

So glad I read this post, and will be adding the word VIRTUAL to the logo before I use it on my blog... hope that is all right with you.

Just signed up! I put (Virtual Run) in my name so you knew I wasn't actually going to show up in Miami =)
