Work. Run. Eat. Repeat

I kinda felt like calling this post...Fat?? Cause seriously that is how I am feeling folks. A little TMI for you but just last month I switched birth control and I'm actually wondering if that is the cause... I mean I have weighed the same for over 2 years (yeah yeah I know I keep talking about six pack abs, but this weight is so easy) and all of a sudden I'm up 5lbs.

Sounds like a cop out though, so I don't want to blame that...we'll see I suppose. I mean I have been truly happy with my body for well a very long time, so what a tool am I for letting a few numbers on the scale start to derail me.

So you know what helps...7 miles pain free and LOVIN IT....plus more FOOD!! Today I received a great package of Dave's Killer bread...an actual review to come later, but mmm bread with Omega 3's...wahoo.

Then there was my package from Lil Runners bake sale...so sorry to those of you who didn't shell out a little for charity because MMMM baby I am enjoying some amazing homemade energy bars. I know sometimes it's hard to find extra cash, but I think for charity and for goodies baked from the heart...totally worth every penny. THEN I received this amazing package from Danica's Daily to say thank you for posting her food link. I have NEVER had Annie's so you can imagine my excitement as I ripped directly into that cute bag of little bunnies, calories be damned. Here I am hoarding my goodies...as though David would ever dare break in to my cupboard, he's slightly afraid of it. Ok will tonight is another late one and tomorrow too...so my brain is mush and hence the complete lack of content in this post. I only slept about 2 hours last night between working and then worrying about work.

BIG NEWS! Just got the story that was posted on the so called wedding planner. Please pass it on as we are trying to get traction so it goes national and helps more brides. Here is the online story... sure wish I could have seen the TV footage.

I wouldn't be surprised if your body is responding to the change in bcp by gaining a little weight - you're totally messing w/ hormone levels. I would guess that in another couple months or so, your body will adjust, and everything will revert to normal.

BUT - just to be on the safe side, you should probably send me your Annie's stash.

that is a lot of food! i definitely think switching the BC is responsible. i was in my 3rd year of college, in mid season and I started on it and i gained weight but i kept having practices for bball and it just kind of went away!

I enjoy the Annie's products, my faves are the shells and cheese and the bunny and chocolate chip bunnies. I like how they come in little snack size bags.

I don't think blaming any weight changes on a new brand of birth control is a cop-out. I used one kind of birth control when I first went on it, then tried a generic variety that was $20 cheaper per month. I started feeling lethargic, could NOT haul myself out of bed, and my abdomen bloated in very odd ways that it had never done before, not even when I was heavier. It was a revelation when the hubby suddenly suggested one night, "Maybe it's the new birth control?" I switched back to my original brand and, lo and behold, my body was normal again! Messing with hormones always does strange things, I guess.

It's very common to gain weight when switching BCPs. You're body may just be getting used to the different hormone levels the new pills have and you could be retaining more water than normal. I'm sure you'll even out once everything is synched up again!

I saw the title and laughed b/c that is so me right now!

Ug, don't get me started on weight birth control and going off birth control and on baby making drugs and... (oh, was this post about you or me?)

Just kidding. Nice haul on the food. Those bunnies look yum!

I would totally blame the birth control! Everytime I've changed BC - something weird has happened! Whether it be weight or my skin freaking our or things like that!

I would be in trouble with all that yummy food in the house, but it sure looks good and hey, it's healthy!

Absolutely could be the BC. I was on Desogen and had always weighed the same. Nothing else changed and I gained 10 pounds that I could not lose. Changed to something else and the weight was almost instantly gone. I kid you not. It is absolutely a possibility.

I think I've had those bunnies...and if they are what I think they are they are so yummy!

I would definately consult your doctor - as im sure you know, mostly EVERY BC comes with the side effects of weight gain. Im on the deprovera shot- and had been for a year before I gained weight from it, and lost my period completely. I asked my doctor about it, and it was brought to my attention, that it had JUST kicked in. YIKES.

2 hours of sleep? Yikes!
Congrats on a pain free 7 miler!!! I have a 7 miler scheduled for Sunday, and although it doesn't sound that hard, I've been unable to finish a run this long in forever. It's just been so humid out and not running this far in a long time doesn't help either. Trying not to get too nervous about my training runs because I'll probably freak out at the actual half marathon. Eek.

those treats all look yummy! Great news about the wedding planner... I've been to Tybee Island, just glad I didn't plan my wedding there with that planner! LOL

Yay for the pain free running! You are going to have a blast on the WWR!!

And super jealous of the DKB - that stuff rocks!

Since you haven't heard this enough yet...I am sure it is the switch from the BC. I had to try out 6 different ones before I found my "perfect" match. I would go back to the doc, discuss what is bothering you about it, and see if you can switch again. Switch sucks, testing to see which one fits sucks, but in the end, the payoff is great!
And BTW, great job on the run! And I love Annies shells and white chedder cheese! Such a guilty indulgence for me! Have a better day today! :)

I wouldn't fret over the 5lbs ~ I bet your weight balances back out after your body adjusts to the new BCP.

Yeah that you got your Annie's stuff - LOVE the pictures of you hording....it's ok to not share - it's THAT good :)

Congrats on the 7 miler!

Lot of times birth control just increases appetite... So just sit back and watch if your eating habits have changed at all.

You could also be dehydrated maybe? Sometimes when your hormones get wacky that that happens..

It could also be water-- sometimes BC gives you like an extra pound of that!
