Race Lessons, Amy's Burrito, Epsom Salts

Good morning, I'm ready to do this thing!!!I had trouble deciding what to wear knowing I would be walking some and thus colder...plus it was like 20-30MPH winds and folks that crap feels cold.I needed a portable breakfast, so I decided on a banana, some Naturally More, all wrapped in my favorite La Tortilla Factory...I have to admit many of you were right about Naturally More Peanut Butter. It's creamy and the nutrition facts are killer!! But hey this is about my race.STARTING LINE
A. Got lost trying to get there
B. Ended up jogging a 1/2 mile to the start...not good when you are trying not to over run!
C. Made it to start line as someone said "ONE MINUTE"
D. Couldn't find any of my fellow bloggers
E. Mile 1 swallow pride and decide that I needed to walk as much as possible in the first part of the race, so I could let it rip later.

I walked roughly every other mile for a while...then I hit 5.5 and it was like GAME ON!!! I took of at a roaring 7:40 pace and ended up pounding out some fantastic miles. I made myself walk again at 9.5...but I couldn't handle it for long, so at 10.1 I fired up the turbo boosters and headed for the finish!!

This motely crew was there, but I couldn't find them all!! KimPossible, Doug, NikeMom...aren't they cute! Here I am all happy and snug in my car, finally out of the wind and sharing a special moment with FLASH.
When I got home the cold had chilled me and I just could do an ice bath...so I did a hot bath with epsom salts!!! I think this was a great alternative.
Here are how my miles broke down...so you can see I had a little trouble making myself walk, but I did good...and FEEL GREAT!
Mile 1: 11:49
Mile 2: 9:53
Mile 3: 13:38
Mile 4: 9:51
Mile 5: 12:19
Mile 6: 9:58
Mile 7: 8:34
Mile 8: 8:35
Mile 9: 8:40
Mile 10: 11:53
Mile 11: 9:12
Mile 12: 8:45
Mile 13: 8:09
Mile... .27??Yeah i think I started before I got to the finish mat 2:18

Final time 2:13
Previous PR: 1:55
First every 1/2: 2:07
So you know what...for a come back from not being able to run at all 4 weeks ago I FEEL DARN GOOD!!

Lunch was an Amy's breakfast burritio. At 380 cals, I wouldn't normally eat that for a frozen food...but once again they proved me WRONG. It was sooo freaking good and really filling. Plus it had tofu, so that gave me all kinds of ideas which I really needed!!

Way to go on the half! You did awesome!

I really like Amy's bean and cheese burritos. I have them periodically for a quick lunch! I've never had the breakfast burritos, though.
