I was excited to run this morning, finally no - windchills and finally the body seems to be all in tact. I considered running 13.1 in honor of all those out there racing, but then decided
clearly I should let them have the glory and not run that far...yes we call that an excuse, but it sounds very nice. In the end I did a fantastic 12.25.
So I woke up at 6AM all geared up to go...but for some reason I still waited until 7:30, I think I just wanted to see the sun. However that 1 and 1/2 gave me time to eat too much. I had PB, rye bread, honey and some dried fruit. That's not a lot, but I could tell during the run that it was just too much.
I picked a hilly route today and boy did my legs feel it, so I am excited that without really pushing hard all of my miles stayed between 9:08 and 9:28.
Friday night I already began dreaming about my post long run eats...I know it's awful, but I was thinking
Kim and Scott's Pretzels were gracious enough to allow me to try some of the product and well they are so good I'm trying to dole them out...of course after about an hour I decided that I would just have one of each!
Here is a picture of the two delicious options:

Final decision: Pizza Pretzel... here's a shot of this good stuff...seriously they are made from whole ingredients and just a better option than most of the frozen foods you would ever consider. I.e. they are closer to eating Amy's than Hot Pockets.

Only complaint...wish it was bigger! But at 280 calories it was delicious and worth the long thoughts. I tried the chocolate one last weekend and ohhh my heaven on Earth...chocolate and bread...mmm mmm mmm. I feel in love with pretzels in Germany, but you can't find many US places that can even touch their bread, I would say for a frozen treat this was darn close!

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
Thanks for your note - I'm excited to read your reviews!
I saw these pretzels a couple weeks ago at Whole Foods and was super tempted to try them (I could probably live on pretzels - it's one of the things I'm most excited for, for Germany this summer!). Sounds like a ringing endorsement from you, and the perfect post-race recharge food. I'll have to give them a try. By the way, if you're looking for soft pretzels, you'll have to plan a visit to Philadelphia. We have a whole city full of doughy goodness.
A quick ab challenge update - Still not 100% sold on the Runners World workout, but I have been able to reposition a couple of the exercises and get that next-morning soreness that I was craving. A friend of mine, who unbeknownst to me is also trying out this workout, said she noticed her hip flexors were less tight, and after she mentioned it I found the same to be true. I'm not sure if that's the PT and stretching or the ab routine, but I'm willing to attribute at least some of it to the abs. So, I'm coming around to it.
This is a really long comment - sorry about that!
post-run, rather - not post-race.
Looks yummy, and btw, thanks for the comments on my post. you're right, even though i'm still upset... but my 11 mile run was good thanks to that stupid company :D
ooh, that looks fantastic! i definitely agree with the choice of 'pizza' flavor! probably would be great with a cup of tomato or roasted pepper soup. mmm.
Mmm, what a great post-run reward! You earned it!
I agree with Karen...

On the Shiva DVD, I don't do the chanting meditation and it does seem weird at the beginning but stick with it cause it really feels great once you work with it a bit.
