Is it the sweets or the big meals?

Over the holidays it's said that Americans gain an average of 5lbs...WELL NO WONDER OUR New Year's goal is always "to lose weight".

What does it for you... the sweets that start with Halloween and then seem to magically form at the office and things that get baked for get togethers which wouldn't even be considered the rest of the year? OR is it the extra large meals because you're celebrating with family while watching football or while gathered around the table?

We all know my answer is sweets...but I've decided this year I want to both enjoy the holidays and not worry about my waistline. Some of this is a mind set, but I'm also trying to think of a challenge that will help get others involved and be liable with me for being SANE and SLIM this holiday season.

I think it's just the general availability of unhealthy snacks at all the different functions.

Normally it's easy to avoid them but not so easy when they are stuffed at you every day!

I think it was my two babies that did it for me.

ooohhhh... a holiday challenge could be good. I am 4 lbs from my favorite weight, but scared that the holidays might really screw me up.

I'm such a social eater, my problem is being around people! I see them eat, drink, laugh and I want to do the same. Oh and pumpkin pie is my downfall!

thanks for commenting on my blog becuase now i have found yours. this is a wonderful challenge. something that i have learned after fearing for my life of gaining weight (recovering from an ED) is that i can eat whatever i want, as long as i stop when i am full and eat when i am hungry and eat everything MODERATELY>>this is very important!! this will not change just b/c it's the "holiday season"!!
