Rain Dodger and new Podcasts

Saturday morning I just couldn't face the treadmill, but it was pouring buckets outside. The solution? I sat down the with my computer, pulled up the radar and tried to figure out where it wasn't raining in the region. Oddly enough there was an opening about 25 minutes from my house...

That's right, shoes on, in the car, out of the car, run. I made it through 5.5 miles and a cool down, when the skies opened up and let loose. Luckily I brought a towel just in case, so I didn't have to drive home just dripping all over the car. I didn't really care though because I made it through without having to do soggy feet, and it was like an early shower.

D sat down with me later on Saturday to look through the stuff for our honeymoon and then we took turns finding stuff online. Places to eat, recommendations, all kinds of information about Oktoberfest and whether we can walk there from the hotel or not...we can.

I know we are both a little nervouse about hitting all these countries where we dont' know the language but the excitement of the adventure definitely out weighs it all! More on the trip later!

PODCASTS
I have fallen in love with podcasts for long runs and was over the moon to find a few new resources. It appears that some of the top colleges are offering free podcasts of entire courses! I'm checking out a psychology course and a really interesting nutrition course right now.

Berkeley: http://webcast.berkeley.edu/index.php
Yale: http://oyc.yale.edu/psychology/introduction-to-psychology/content/downloads
MIT: http://ocw.mit.edu

Ha ha! We do that for our rides sometimes - drive to where it isn't raining.

I didn't know you could get complete courses by podcast now. That's awesome! I'll have to look into that!

Very cool. Will have to check out those podcasts.

And yes, the farmer's market so rocks. It was so easy to get to after my run, well, hobbling to it that is. One other guy in my running group uses the recovery drinks and he says the same things about it that it really seems to help and day after long run runs are great runs.
